Rich in fiber and Vitamin C

Red raspberries grow in bushes. Of sweet, sour and very aromatic flavor, the raspberry is a fruit rich in fiber and Vitamin C that scarcely has calories. For optimum storage, once at home it’s important to keep them well separated from each other. Only wash the fruit when it’s about to be served. Fresh raspberries are delicious, although it is also popular in marmalades and is extensively used in cakes and confectioners.

The raspberries are an excellent source of vitamin C, folic acid, iron, potassium, antioxidants and ellagic acid. The ellagitannins, compounds found almost exclusive in raspberries, are considered to have activity against cancer diseases and contribute to the antioxidant feature of the raspberry. They fruit is also a big source of fiber, which helps keeping low levels of cholesterol.
